Maria Venus Raj Bayonito has been crowned Bb. Pilipinas – Universe last March 6, 2010 at the Araneta Coliseum has been dethroned by the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. because there has been a questionable issue with regards to her birth records.

“There have been inconsistencies with Venus Raj’s birth certificate”, as stated by Bb. Pilipinas PR Manager Jenny Inocencio-Marcial.

According to their submitted birth records, Venus Raj was born in the Philippines.  However, Venus Raj and her mother said that she was born in Doha, Quatar.

Maria Venus Raj Bayonito is a 21 year old that stands 5 feet and 9 inches tall. She currently resides in Camarines Sur. She is a half Indian, half Filipino beauty.

This is the statement from the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc.:
“Today March 29, 2010, Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. decided, with a heavy heart, to let Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go, after the organization discovered inconsistencies contained in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth.”

Based on the rules of Bb. Pilipinas, when one titleholder gets dethroned, the first runner-up will replace her. However, the 1st runner-up, Dianne Necio, is only 17 years old. The Miss Universe pageant’s age limit is 18 to 26 years old. In this line, the second runner-up winner, Helen Henson, will then fill the vacated position.

A similar incident happened last 1999 when Bb. Pilipinas-Universe winner Janelle Bautista was dethroned because of some irregularities in her residency papers as well. Miriam Quiambao was then asked to replace her wherein Miriam went on to become the 1st runner-up in Miss Universe 1999.
